Tributes, Trivia & Curiosities

See ya, Paul.

Paul Ollswang was one who followed the Hero's Journey.
You know that because those who walked with him,
even
those who chanced to meet him, ended up on a higher path,
sometimes in spite of themselves.

Paul's life was a compilation of pure art and pure philosophy. He taught us all to think about everything, to laugh at most things and to always throw a ball for a dog.
Or anyone else who was in need of a good chase.

The Umpqua Valley
Oregon's North Umpqua River is a national treasure of unsurpassed beauty.

Surrounded by BLM and Forest Service forests, its beauty is that of a wooded stream, rather than the wild Rocky Mountain rivers that often come to mind. Its storied steelhead trout angling is legendary.  But its beauty and invaluable recreational resources are continually threatened by disrespectful and unneighborly power companies, more people and a lack of planning that might influence both.
